Wonderful news, Dirk! So glad to hear that everything went well -- my thoughts have often been with you over the past few weeks.

Since you're experiencing phantom pain, you might find the "Where Am I?" episode of NYC's Radio Lab interesting -- it has a whole segment on phantom limbs. You can pick up the mp3 here: http://www.wnyc.org/shows/radiolab/episodes/2006/05/05. There's also a good, tho very short chapter on phantoms in Oliver Sacks' tremendously entertaining book, The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and Other Clinical Tales.

Stay well!
