All tracks: First European International Pop Festival, Piper Club, Rome, Italy. May 6th, 1968. VPRO(Dutch radio) Rebroadcast.

A very strange version of 'Interstellar Overdrive' if I may say so, it starts with drumming and Dave making a peculiar 'birdy' clicking noise on his guitar, then it goes into sort of a free form jam, one wouldn't think it was 'Interstellar Overdrive' one listened to until the familiar chords sequence set in near the end.

A very good concert, the first they did in my country. I first heard it on a vynil bootleg, many years ago. I know that there is also a video from this perfomance, I wish I could find it...

All the best

Interstellar Overdrive starts in the middle, that's the reason it sounds so unfamiliar at first. The beginning was cut from the broadcast version, but there is an audience recording of vg-/g sound quality that features the complete song. There also exists a film version (same lenght, beginning cut) e.g.on the dvd "Live Anthology".

Thanks a lot for posting

I remember an important Phrase of Pink Floyd, it said that According to Mason, the psychedelic movement had "taken place around us—not within us".!!! I think that they were amazing excellent band!22dd
